JMSN is the top pick of the week. “So Badly,” finds the singer crooning about his urge to find love. “You know I love you so badly/And I want it so badly every day/You know I love you so badly/And I just can live this way,” sings the Michigan native. “So Badly” was written, produced and mixed by JMSN but also features a ton of live instrumentation.

The single by JMSN has entered top charts on multiple radio stations nationwide. “So Badly” recently entered Top 5 on 97.5 The Beat in Las Vegas and WYYT 106.3 in Cleveland.

JMSN released Whatever Makes U Happy. Given his history, a new project from JMSN should be out later this year.

Darius Rucker Praises Beyonce

Country star Darius Rucker said in a recent interview that country music still carries a “stigma” of racism today.

Rucker wrote in a 2021 editorial for The Tennessean that country music has a “stigma of rebel flags and racism.”

In the latest installment of CNN’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace,” host Chris Wallace asked Rucker whether this stigma still exists in the genre today.

“It’s still around, you know. You still see it some places, and I don’t think it’s — I don’t think it’s ever gonna go away,” the “Beers and Sunshine” singer said.

When pressed further, Rucker said the stigma was “still” a part of the country, adding that he is “pretty sure it’s still there.”

He also touched on Beyoncé’s newest and first country album, “Cowboy Carter.” Beyoncé became the first Black woman earlier this year to hit No. 1 on the Billboard country albums chart.

“I can’t express enough how big what she did was because she brought so many eyes to the genre. You know, one of the things I love about what Beyoncé did is that, when I started making country music and having hits, I have African American women and men come up to me go, ‘I love country music. I just could never say until now, you’re playing and I can say it,’” Rucker said.

Missy Is Ditching Sweets For Tour

First it was induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as the inaugural female hip-hop artist.

Then, the announcement that after a 25-plus year career a first-ever headlining tour would be unveiled this summer.

Add to that a prominent role in Pharrell Williams’ currently untitled movie project about his life and clearly, it’s a Missy Elliott-palooza.

On July 4, a few days after she turns 53, Elliott will embark on the Out of This World tour with co-stars Busta Rhymes and Ciara, as well as Timbaland, who has known Elliott since high school and helped innovate smashes including “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly),” “Hit Em Wit Da Hee,” “Get Ur Freak On” and “Work It.”

The 30-date run, which kicks off in Vancouver, will wind through Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Tampa, Atlanta, Baltimore, Brooklyn and Philadelphia among its stops.

Elliott, who lives in Atlanta, is also filming the Williams movie in Richmond, Virginia – both hail from the Virginia Beach area – while prepping for her tour. She'll star alongside Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Oscar nominee Brian Tyree Henry and fellow music luminary Janelle Monáe.

Sukihana Drops Diss Record Aimed At City Girls Member JT

Destiny Henderson, famously known as Sukihana, kicked off her Wednesday (May 8) by dropping a diss rap that many feel is (clearly) aimed at fellow rapper JT, full name Batavia Johnson. The track, labeled “COCAINE,” wastes no time hinting at who the insults are meant for. While Sukihana never mentions JT directly, subliminal messages like that don’t really leave room for much speculation.

If you’ve been tuned into the daily posts, you already know last June reports circulated that JT and Ice Spice had a little spat at the BET Awards. Initially, it was rumored the incident had to do with JT’ssignificant other — Lil Uzi Vert — giving too much attention to the “Deli” rapper during the event. However, insiders close to JT soon claimed what occurred had nothing to do with Ice Spice, and she was upset she lost her seat when the audience was shuffled around.

RedrumSociety Set to Rock Lake Worth

RedrumSociety is often compared to bands like Imagine Dragons and Smashing Pumpkins. Their slightly acid sound is said to be “A rock that takes inspiration from the past but at the same time manages to be modern and innovative”. Zach Cohen, recently relaunched the band after a hiatus that saw the singer and guitarist return to his home state of Florida to concentrate on his sobriety.

Original member Zach Cohen started the band in high school, but after spiraling into a drug-induced downfall, he took a three-year break to recollect himself. The versatile alternative band has had tracks to hit the Pop, Blues, and Alternative charts, and their latest single, “Have Some” is destined for the same success.

RedrumSociety was founded in 2008 out of South Florida by four friends, Dylan Lerner, Esdras Raymond, Esperanzo (Espo) Wilcox, and Zach Cohen. The four high school friends came from different backgrounds but bonded through their connection together in making music. The original members are no longer together but Zach decided to honor his friends, Dylan, Esdras, and Espo, and keep true to the original spirit and attitude of RedrumSociety.

Zach started playing the guitar when he was 14 and he immediately started writing songs. He was inspired to begin writing by Bob Dylan’s song “Maggie’s Farm.” He also draws inspiration from Hank Williams Sr., Lou Reed, Dion, Parliament, Funkadelic, and Robert Johnson.

Today, RedrumSociety is made up of frontman Zach Cohen, on guitar and vocals, Andrew Platt on keyboards and vocals, Sean Chesal on drums and vocals, and Ruddy Simon on bass. The band is currently independent and works to help people have feelings of comradery and togetherness. They want their music to give the feeling that they share the same feelings with their audience.

King & Prince Tops Charts With “Ichiban”

King & Prince released their fourth album, “Made in.” They announced the album in April during a MC segment at the first of their Tokyo Dome dates. The title “Made in” has several different meanings, those being “‘Made in’ JAPAN”, “‘Made in’ Johnny’s”, and “‘Made in’ King & Prince.” The concept of the album is “What you can do now to make yourself happy.”

Playing off of the “‘Made in’ JAPAN” theme, the album art for “Made in” features the group standing in front, in between, and behind a noren, the traditional Japanese curtain hung in doorways. King & Prince are in effect welcoming listeners in. This play on tradition also ties into the “‘Made in’ Johnny’s” theme, with the group essentially inheriting the tradition of Johnny & Associates.

“Made in” contain 16 songs (17 in the regular edition), including the singles “Koifuru Tsukiyo ni Kimi Omou”, “Lovin’you”, and “Odoru You ni Jinsei wo.” It will also include a ballad written and composed by the group, “Dream in.”

BGYO & BINI Rock MTV

P-pop groups BGYO and BINI have taken the spotlight of MTV Asia as they wowed fans with performances for its “MTV Jammin'” series.

BGYO showed off their dance moves while singing their popular track “The Baddest,” on MTV Asia’s YouTube channel yesterday, Dec. 26. MTV Jammin’” is MTV Asia’s weekly series which features stripped down performances of various artists.

“Thank you MTV Asia for featuring us on ‘MTV Jammin,’ we are BGYO!” the group said.

Aside from “The Baddest,” BGYO also performed their song “Magnet” on “MTV Jammin'” last Thursday, Dec. 22. Both performances for the series were filmed in New York.

Meanwhile, BINI sang and danced to their song “Strings” last Saturday, Dec. 24. This is a follow-up to another episode of “MTV Jammin'” where the group performed “Na Na Na.”

“It’s everybody’s first time here at New York. First of all, it’s very very cold here. Everyone is shivering and freezing and it’s very different from the Philippines, but we love it here,” the group said. “We love how it’s very bright and there’s so many lights here, so many people too.”

Dionne Warwick Wants to Meet Twitter's CEO, Elon Musk

While a number of musicians have stepped away from Twitter since Musk’s takeover, Dionne Warwick wants to have a conversation with the CEO to get an understanding of his intentions for the social media platform.

“I have to meet him,” Warwick, a beloved figure on Twitter who just celebrated her 82nd birthday, told People. “I know a lot of people have walked away from Twitter. That’s prior to knowing exactly what he’s going to do. He’s new to the game.”

She continued, “His attitude is freedom of speech, which is mine as well. However, there’s a way to do it.”

A No Doubt Reunion Is Possible Says Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani opened up on Monday (Dec. 19) about the possibility of No Doubt getting back together, her favorite holiday traditions and more.

“What are the odds of anything?” the star said in a profile for the Wall Street Journal when it came to a reunion with her old bandmates. “I was just on The Drew Barrymore Show. She was one of my favorite celebrities when I was a little girl, and now I was just on the show with her. Anything can happen. I have no idea what’s going to happen with No Doubt. We haven’t really talked about doing anything, but it feels like everyone is, right? All the ’90s people — Blink-182 did an eight-month tour that sold out in like five minutes.”

Gunna Pleads Guilty and Is to Be Released from Jail but Maintains His Innocence

Rapper Gunna will be released from prison after pleading guilty on Wednesday to one charge of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

The "Pushin P" rapper, who has been behind bars in Georgia since his arrest in May, said that although he was pleading guilty, the entry was an Alford plea, meaning he still maintains his innocence.

Gunna, 29, and Young Thug, who was arrested two days before Gunna, were among 28 people accused of illegal racketeering activity as part of a group called "Young Slime Life" or "Young Stoner Life" (YSL).

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Gunna said he became affiliated with YSL in 2016, but "did not consider it a 'gang'"—instead, he said, it was "a group of people from metro Atlanta who had common interests and artistic aspirations."

Angela Yee Says Goodbye to The Breakfast Club After 13 Years

Angela Yee has officially changed the radio landscape, of the past decade. After thirteen years, Yee said farewell to “The Breakfast Club.” She taped her final show on December 2nd. News about Yee’s departure surfaced in August, with her leaving to start a new show “Way Up with Angela Yee.” The popular show featuring Angela, Charlamagne Tha Good and DJ Envy, took over the radio through the power of the internet.

Angela Yee was instrumental in helping “The Breakfast Club” has create an entire culture from their show. Interviewing everyone from musical legends like Patti LaBelle and Spike Lee, in addition to the hip hop legends, such as Jay-Z and Nas. In thirteen years, the show has become the pulse of both hip hop and Black culture. Before joining “The Breakfast Club,” Angela Yee was already a known radio personality. In 2005, Yee worked at Sirius radio, eventually landing her own show “The Morning After with Angela Yee.”

Angela Yee recently posted pictures from her early Sirius radio days, followed with a caption of “#tbt radio chapters @wayupwithyee,” letting fans know her new show is coming. In August, Yee announced she was leaving “The Breakfast Club.” Tonight was her official exit. Although she is leaving, “The Breakfast Club” will continue with the two remaining host. Yee’s new show, “Way Up With Yee,” is set to air on iHeart Media in 2023.
